3 Tips That YOU Want To Know

Whenever I have an initial meeting with a new client, I always ask how much water do you drink a day, how many veggies are you eating, and how is your sleep.

These are 3 things we all THINK we do, but in reality, we don’t REALLY? Even myself as a personal trainer.

I feel like I’ve really slacking on taking care of myself because I always put everyone else before myself, especially my clients and work. But, I use Sundays to get myself prepped and prepared for the week. I get my meals prepped, catch up on laundry and have my clothes ready for the next few days out, and try to get to bed early for my 4am wake up every day. There’s nothing worse than running around like a crazy person trying to get everything you need on Monday morning at 5:15am.

1️⃣ drink a glass of water when you first wake up.

I keep a bottle of water right by my bed so when I reach over to turn off my alarm, I can start chugging. I have been having a more difficult time getting enough water in throughout the day, so by getting it in when I first wake up, sets me up for a better day.

Everyone needs a different amount of water but don’t worry, I’ll be talking more about this soon! 💦

2️⃣ add an extra serving of veggies to a meal, just one meal.

Most people don’t get enough phytonutrients. Add a cup of veggies to your next meal and you will start to feel those super powers. Bonus points if you get more colors on your plate. 🌈

This is where I also suggest trying different types of veggies, you never know that you might really enjoy something that you were afraid of trying.

Here are some of my suggestions to add something new to your meals. Greens - think spinach, kale, broccoli, and legumes. Reds - think tomatoes, cherries, red cabbage, and watermelon. Orange - think squash, corn, cantaloupe, and sweet potatoes. White - think garlic, parsnips, apples, coconut. Purple - think grapes, blueberries, beets, and eggplant.

3️⃣ go to bed 30 minutes earlier.

Sleep is one area that most people tend to forget about since we are so busy trying to cram everything we can in one day. Most people need 7-9 hours of sleep per night. It’s ok if you’re not getting that much. Just work on adding 30 minutes and you will start seeing a big difference. 😴. And you may even start enjoying going to bed earlier. Bonus, you may feel like you’re more productive first thing in the morning and finish those tasks on that to do list that seem to always be there.

When you are first starting on your fitness journey, it can be overwhelming. By starting off small, you will be able to get those habits to stick and then move onto building upon other habits.

If this is something that you would like to discuss further, send me a DM or contact me here and I would love to chat about this with you.
