My Flu Fighter Smoothie

With all the talk of the CoronaVirus + immunity boosting foods, got me thinking about my awesome Flu Fighter smoothie that was in my smoothie rotation a few months back.


Get ready for a tropical sip.


Side bar: this can also be a great cocktail, because it’s 5pm somewhere or 10a, no judgement! Just sub out the almond milk + add your favorite vodka or rum + get ready for some fun in the “pretend” sun


Recipe:

  • 1/2 cup unsweetened almond or coconut milk, eyeball to make thicker smoothie

  • 1/2 cup of orange juice

  • 1/2 cup frozen or fresh peaches

  • 1/2 frozen or fresh mango or pineapple

  • 1/2 frozen or fresh strawberries

  • 1 scoop of collage peptides, I like Vital Proteins

  • 1 scoop of protein powder - vanilla or coconut would be great here, I like Sano, use code: IGLIVE for 25% off their website

  • 1 tablespoon of unsweetened coconut flakes in + a sprinkle on top of smoothie

Method:

  • Add ingredients to blender + mix well

  • Pour into your favorite cup + Enjoy!

  • For a thicker smoothie, start with less almond milk, you can always add more as you blend.


Rather turn this into a smoothie bowl? No problem, I recommend using frozen ingredients + adding almond little by little to get a thicker consistency. Pour into your favorite bowl + add toppings like sliced bananas, berries, chia seeds, nut butter, + coconut flakes.
