Fitness Friday: 5 Things I Learned About Co-hosting an Event

A few weekends ago, I co-hosted a fitness event with my friend Kristen at Sculpt Fitness Studio.  We were planning for weeks for a fantastic workout with incredible swag bags.   This was the first time we co-hosted an event together.  It was fun and fabulous way to get fitness-minded women together.

Here is a list of five things I learned to be crucial for planning a fitness event.

Boss Babes

Planning and organization are major key

I'm grateful that Kristen is the organization queen.  Her spreadsheet was incredibly helpful.  But the key to making this whole thing run smoothly was constant communication.

Swag anyone?

Who doesn't love trying new brands?  We're lucky to be living at a time where you can find information and inspiration anywhere.  There are endless influencers providing the new and upcoming trends for must-have products.

We included brands that aligned with our mission of living a healthy lifestyle and were grateful that so many brands wanted to support our event.

Let's get out our comfort zones

One day I was scrolling on Instagram and saw posts about Sculpt Fitness Studio.  The studio looked cute and the workout looked intense with the megaformers.  I reached out to the owner Stephanie and she was excited to have us.

This workout is no joke and I'm  excited for the girls to try something new.

Since plenty of the ladies are local to Philly, it would be easy for them to come back for another class.  I can't wait for the next one!

All are welcome

Kristen and I met through Instagram following Tone It Up and have attended several TiuPhilly events.  We thought it would be fun to open this event to all fitness-minded ladies.  And who doesn't love meeting new people who enjoy the same things as you.

Girls

There was instant interest in the studio and we couldn't have been more thrilled.  As the spots were filling up, I noticed more and more new girls signing up.  Some said they have never done this type of workout or attended an event before.  We assured them there was no need to be shy and nervous.  Our main goal was to welcome everyone and have everyone feel comfortable the entire time.

Throughout the event, I noticed everyone was chatting and getting to know every one.  Exactly what we wanted.  Everyone left with a great workout and a new friend or two.

Plan back ups for the back ups for the back ups

Unfortunately it rained, but we were prepared for this. We covered all bases by having a wait list.   To our amazement and joy, everyone showed up ready to work.

The studio holds ten megaformers so we had two classes.  We scheduled time in between so we could hang, enjoy a treat, and take pictures.

I couldn't have been more thrilled that our first event was a complete success. If you want to read about our experience at the event, take a look at Kristen's blog at CompletelyKristen.com

Kristen, we DID a thing!

SFS

Last but definitely not least, HUGE thanks to Stephanie from Sculpt Fitness Studio for making it all possible.  If you live in Philly, go check it out.  You will thank me later.  You can follow the studio on Instagram at @sculptfitnessstudio.
