Hello there! Welcome to marathons + matcha. I’ve wanted to start a blog for a while and that was what I’m about, living a healthy life to the fullest. I am very excited to start this journey and new to this whole life of blogging, so please bear with me :).
My name is Hallie and I’m a thirty-something living in Philadelphia who loves to run and all things fitness. I’ve been living in Philadelphia for almost 8 years but grew up in South Jersey, where my love of running started in high school. I joined the cross country team my freshman year then later joined the track team, where I found the 400m and 800m.
My running came back in full force upon the passing of my father in 2010 and I haven’t turned back. I knew I was missing something for the longest time but couldn’t quite put my finger on it. I was in a new relationship and the passing of my father put things in perspective and I knew I needed a change. So I signed up for a 5k in NYC in 2012 and the rest is history…
Since then I’ve ran a marathon, 9 half marathons, 4 ten miler runs, a 15k, and 6 10ks. I also recently have gotten certified in Spinning/ Indoor Cycling instructing.
I hope you enjoy being a part of this community. I’ll be discussing all things that I love from fitness to training for my first marathon to nutrition and everything in between.
